Xavi responds to describing Bayern's confrontation as entering the house of horrors

Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez mocked the comparison of the Bayern Munich match at his stadium to entering the "house of horrors" before the two teams meet in the third group of the Champions League on Tuesday. Bayern defeated Barcelona 3-0 in the group stage last season, but the Barcelona squad has completely changed and is led by striker Robert Lewandowski, who moved from the Bavarian team to his Catalan counterpart at the beginning of this season.

Barcelona has never won at Bayern, who scored 17 goals against four in the last four meetings between the two teams, including the 8-2 thumping victory in the quarter-finals of the Champions League in 2020. Xavi is aware of the difficulty of Barcelona's task, but said that his team should not be afraid to go to Munich. "I wouldn't say horror house, just Bayern stadium," Xavi said.

"I've seen both sides of the coin before, we beat Bayern by a big score and lost by a heavy score, but the fact that we've never won at the Allianz Arena shows how difficult this stadium is and the task ahead, but we are optimistic."

"We can't be overconfident because of our good results recently, we have to remember what it was like when we faced Bayern last season, but we would be happy if we played to our potential, and if we did that I think we could win and change history."

No player will be absent from Barcelona in the face of coach Julian Nagelsmann's team, and Jules Conde, Eric Garcia, Pedri, Osman Dembele and Robert Lewandowski are expected to participate in the starting lineup after they participated as substitutes in the 4-0 victory at Cadiz last Saturday.
