Rayana Bernawi monitors Mecca from space
Saudi astronaut Rayana Barnawi spotted Mecca from space. And in a tweet to her on Twitter, which she attached to a video clip, Rayana wrote: “After I finished my experiences for today, it happened that we passed over Makkah Al-Mukarramah, light upon light.”
On Monday, the Saudi astronauts, Rayana Bernawi and Ali Al-Qarni, arrived at the International Space Station, after a journey that took about 16 hours.
The Associated Press reported that the International Space Station received the two Saudi astronauts, in addition to the Americans John Shoffner and Peggy Watson. The four will spend just over a week at the station, before returning to Earth aboard their capsule.
