 Twitter services have returned to work in a number of countries, while users in the United States and European countries have reported a disruption in the site's services. Twitter services were down for thousands of users around the world on Thursday, the first such glitch since February, according to a website that tracks internet outages.

Downdetector, which tracks internet outages by collecting reports from a number of sources, said there have been more than 27,000 cases of people reporting problems with the social media platform's services in the United States.

Users in other countries including Britain, Mexico, Brazil and Italy also reported the Twitter outage. It was not immediately clear what caused the malfunction, and Twitter did not issue any statement in this regard, according to "Reuters".
