President Hassan Sheikh participates in the meeting of African heads of state and the World Bank

 On Monday, in Nairobi, the President of the Republic, Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud, participated in the meeting of African heads of state and the World Bank, and during the meeting he presented the Somali government’s plan regarding investment and transferring funded projects towards economic infrastructure and production.

The President pointed out that economic cooperation and facilitating trade between the countries of the continent is the basis of plans to improve the lives of our poor peoples, eliminate poverty, and achieve the comprehensive development goal of the United Nations.

He added: “Somalia, compared to the damage to its economy and government institutions, today it seems clear that it has recovered and overcome a very difficult stage, as it has set its foot on the path to economic stability and social and commercial development.” “That is why we are continuing our plans to support and encourage this economic recovery,” he added.

President Hassan Sheikh praised the leaders of the World Bank for their efforts to finance and empower weak countries, in order to find a lasting solution to the disasters that have delayed the lives of the people of those countries.
