 In implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE, through the Red Crescent Authority, provides urgent humanitarian aid to those affected by drought from the brotherly Somali people to the Emirates.


The aid program provided by Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed to the Somalis includes running an air bridge to reduce the repercussions of the drought disaster, and transporting tens of tons of supplies and relief materials to those affected, as his first planes arrived in the capital, Mogadishu.


The Authority, which was sent by Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed at a later time, operates an aid ship to support its efforts in this regard and alleviate the suffering of the Somali brothers. The Authority's program includes providing water through tankers and tankers for the displaced due to drought.


The Secretary-General of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority stressed that the directives of the wise leadership in this regard come in support of the country's humanitarian, relief and development initiatives for the benefit of the Somali people.


Some Somali states are suffering from drought due to the lack of rain for three consecutive seasons, and as a result 4.6 million people need urgent assistance, and the drought disaster has led to the displacement of 345,000 people inside Somalia, so the UAE is seeking to help
