Somali President arrives in Washington to attend a session of the Security Council
The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud, and his accompanying delegation arrived in Washington to attend a session of the United Nations Security Council.
President Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud will deliver a speech at the meeting of the UN Security Council, in which member states will share the security situation in Somalia and the war against terrorists that he started a long time ago.
In his speech, the President will focus on lifting the arms embargo on Somalia and providing international support for the second phase of the war to rid the country of the terrorist Al-Shabaab movement that threatens the lives of Somalis.
President Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud and his delegation will hold meetings with officials of the United States of America and heads of international organizations, with a focus on mobilizing international support for the efforts of the Somali government to achieve stability in areas liberated from terrorists.
