President Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud restores Arab relations with Somalia

 The Somali federal government announced today, Thursday, that it has received financial aid from the United Arab Emirates, amounting to 9.6 million dollars.


A statement issued by the office of the Prime Minister of Somalia, Mohamed Hussein Roble, stated that he participated in a ceremony held in order to receive Emirati aid.


In the details, the UAE Ambassador to Somalia, Mohamed Ahmed Al-Othman, handed, on Thursday, an Emirati grant to the Somali Finance Minister and Central Bank Governor.

On the occasion, the Somali government held a ceremony in which Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble participated. Roble witnessed the handing over of the UAE Ambassador to Somalia, Mohamed Ahmed Al-Othman, a sum of $9.6 million, presented by Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, to the Somali government and people Sister Somalia and received by the Minister of Finance in the Federal Government of Somalia and the Governor of the Central Bank.


The Somali Prime Minister praised the generous and continuous support provided by the brotherly United Arab Emirates to the Somali people to alleviate their suffering.

The grant provided by the UAE is devoted to activating relief aid in Somalia and supporting development efforts.


The UAE initiative aims to contribute to meeting the needs of the Somali people in various development areas, in an effort to improve the living conditions of the population and enhance the government's capabilities to deal with the humanitarian challenges facing Somalia.
