Accusations of the "Classico" ruling of condoning the expulsion of Vinicius

Classico

The Spanish Barcelona fans accused the referee of their charged match against rivals Real Madrid of sympathizing with the "royal", due to the incident of Brazilian star Vinicius Junior. During the meeting, Vinicius collided with Barcelona player Frenkie de Young, and dragged him by the neck, before knocking him to the ground, in an angry act from the Brazilian star.

Referee Manuera Montero contented himself with giving Vinicius a yellow card, so the latter poured out his anger on the referee and approached him pointing with his finger, while the referee did not give him a second card, for a violation that many Barcelona fans considered worthy of expulsion in the first place.

A Spanish station published a video showing the referee's words with Real Madrid player Eder Militao, about the Vinicius incident during the match. It seemed that the referee was aware of what had happened, but he "forgave" Vinicius by not expelling him.

The referee told Eder, according to the Spanish "El Desmark" website: "Eder listened to me, he (Vinicius) caught him and flattened him to the ground." This video, which showed the referee's awareness of the violent behavior of Vinicius, caused an uproar among fans on social media.

Some considered it irrefutable evidence of the referee's "forgiveness" of Vinicius, and not giving him the red card, in the 24th minute, which would have turned the match upside down. It is noteworthy that Barcelona succeeded in defeating Real Madrid in the first leg of the Spanish Cup semi-final, 1-0.
