Development aid from America to Somalia worth $92.6 million
The Somali and American governments signed today, Tuesday, an agreement worth 92.6 million dollars, with the aim of financing development projects in Somalia.
The agreement was signed on the Somali side by the Minister of Planning, Investment and Economic Development in the federal government, Mahmoud Abd al-Rahman Bini Bini and Minister of Finance Bihi Iman Aghi, and on the American side, the Chargé d'Affairs of the American Ambassador in Mogadishu.
The Minister of Planning, Beni Beni, indicated that the agreement concluded between the two governments aims to build resilience and stability, stimulate Somali economic growth and strengthen governance.
The minister said that the US support is the second in two years, adding that the US Agency for International Development implemented projects last year in Somalia at a cost of more than $70 million.
