Somalia declares a state of emergency due to devastating floods
The Somali federal government declared a state of emergency due to the floods that affected the residents of various Somali regions and led to huge losses of life and property, and the situation became out of control.
The announcement was made in an emergency Cabinet meeting chaired by the President of the Republic, Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud, which discussed addressing the critical situation resulting from the devastating floods that affected more than a million people in the country.
The meeting focused on coordinating a rapid and effective response to the humanitarian crisis.
