 On Saturday, Abdirashid Mohamed Abdi, known as “Indi”, surrendered to the Somali army, in the Janale area of ​​the Lower Shabelle region of the South West State administration.

Anadi indicated that he joined Al-Shabaab in early 2018, when he embraced extremist ideology, and that he fought among the group’s ranks in Bay and Lower Shabelle regions. The defector stated that he faced many problems since joining the Al-Shabaab movement, noting that he decided to leave the group to which he had belonged for many years.

In the past few days, the Somali government has paraded in different parts of the country Al-Shabaab defectors that it said had benefited from the government amnesty and had withdrawn from the group.
