The President of the Republic meets with the Speaker of the Arab Parliament

 The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud, met with the President of the Arab Parliament, Mr. Adil bin Abdulrahman Al-Asoumi.

The President discussed with Mr. Al-Asoumi how to develop the deep and traditional relationship between Somalia and the Arab Parliament, thanking the Arab League for its continued support for the people and government of Somalia and its strong support in protecting the unity, sovereignty and independence of the Somali lands.

In his speech during the opening of the second session of the Arab Parliament of the fourth session of the third legislative term, on Sunday, the President of the Arab Parliament condemned the memorandum of understanding signed between Ethiopia and Somaliland and considered it a violation of Somali sovereignty and a threat to Arab national security. He stressed the Arab Parliament’s support for the League Council’s decision. The Ministerial Council considered that memorandum invalid.
