Puntland will host a conference to overcome political differences

 Puntland State President Said Abdullahi Deni announced the holding of a high-level meeting in Growe bringing together representatives of the federal government, regional states and Somali politicians to promote dialogue and reconciliation.

This came in a press conference held by the President of Puntland State in northeastern Somalia yesterday evening, Tuesday, in the city of Growe, the capital of the state.

Deni confirmed that Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud had accepted the invitation to participate in the conference, expressing his optimism that the dialogue would yield constructive results to confront the challenges the country is going through.

The President of Puntland revealed that the federal government is preparing the agenda for the conference and added that the recent meeting held in Growe and attended by the Somali President, heads of regional states and former prime ministers reached a consensus on the need to collectively confront the current challenges facing the country.
