The European Union allocated 37 million euros to support Somalia, a country that is grappling with drought, floods, conflict, insecurity, and many conflicts with terrorist organizations such as the terrorist Al-Shabaab movement.

The aid allocated to Somalia is part of the EU's broader humanitarian efforts in the greater Horn of Africa region, which includes aid to Djibouti (€500,000), Ethiopia (€38 million), Kenya (€11.5 million) and South Sudan (€49.5 million). and Uganda (27.5 million euros). In addition, €7 million will be allocated to regional disaster preparedness programmes.
