Puntland Parliament gives confidence to the new state government

 On Monday, the Puntland Parliament approved the new government recently announced by state President Said Abdullahi Deni. All 54 representatives who attended the session voted in favor of granting confidence to the government, which includes 21 ministers, 22 deputy ministers, and 14 ministers of state.

President Deni, who was re-elected as President of Puntland on January 8, 2024, announced at the end of last month the formation of his new government, which was long awaited by the Somali people.

A number of members of the former Puntland government, such as the ministers of justice, religious affairs, interior, security, and information, retained their positions, while the list included new ministers and women received three portfolios in the new lineup.
