Two former presidents call for a comprehensive dialogue on constitutional amendments

 Former presidents Sharif Sheikh Ahmed and Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo held a meeting in Mogadishu yesterday to discuss political issues and the ongoing debate on constitutional amendments.

During the meeting, the two presidents called for broad consultations on issues related to amending the country's constitution, stressing the importance of comprehensive dialogue to overcome the complexities of constitutional reform.

The two leaders revealed plans to organize an expanded meeting of politicians and civil society to continue discussions on the country's constitution. President Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud confirmed his government's commitment to finalizing the constitution, explaining that any measure to amend the constitution will enter into force after the next elections.
