 Meta Platforms has revealed the opening date of its first physical store where shoppers can try and buy virtual reality headsets and other gadgets, while the company plans to develop its virtual space, "Metaverse".


The company stated that the "Meta Store" store is scheduled to open on an area of ​​1,550 square feet inside Burlingame, California, on May 9, and will present demonstrations of headphones (VR2 Quest) and a video communication device (Portal), in addition to glasses. Smart produced with Ray-Ban.


The devices, excluding Ray-Ban glasses, will be made available for in-store purchase, and the company said the products can also be purchased online through a new shopping page on the meta.com website.


Meta is ramping up its investment in Metaverse, a virtual space where people interact, work and play, by adding new features to devices that act as access points to the virtual world.


Earlier this month, Facebook owner Meta Platforms said it would begin testing tools for selling digital assets and experiences within its virtual reality platform Horizon World, an augmented reality platform that Meta launched late last year. Reuters reported.
