 The president of the French club Paris Saint-Germain, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, revealed the "huge" gains achieved by contracting Argentine star Lionel Messi, despite his "declining" level.


In a report to the newspaper "Marca", Al-Khelaifi said that the French champion managed to sell more than one million shirts, in Messi's first season, a precedent that occurs for the first time in the club's history.


He confirmed that 60 percent of the shirts sold bore Messi's name, and he became the most selling club for shirts in the world, along with Manchester United.


Al-Khelaifi also confirmed that contracting with Messi brought 10 new sponsorship contracts to the French club, with huge companies, and contracts that are higher than usual, due to Messi's presence.


And the director of contracts at Paris Saint-Germain, Marc Armstrong, revealed the huge figure, which is 700 million euros, which Paris Saint-Germain earned in revenue, after Messi's first season.


Even on social media, the French club's followers increased by 15 million followers on all platforms, which brings them a profit of 1.4 million euros per week.
