WhatsApp

The Meta group, which owns the WhatsApp application, confirmed on Tuesday that it has fixed the malfunction that hit the instant communication application around the world. "We understand that people have had problems sending messages via WhatsApp today. We have resolved the issue and apologize for any inconvenience," a Meta spokesperson told AFP, without elaborating.

The company had earlier acknowledged the existence of a technical problem facing users in the application, stressing that it is working hard to solve this problem that has been reported in many countries around the world such as France and India.

But the company did not explain the nature of the problem. Users of "WhatsApp" in several regions of the world said that they are facing a problem in sending and receiving messages. The downdetector website, which tracks technical malfunctions on popular digital sites and platforms, confirmed that there is a technical problem in WhatsApp.

The site's data showed a significant increase in the reports of failures that affected "WhatsApp" in the last hours. In just one hour, the site received more than 9 thousand reports in this regard, but these reports declined quickly within two hours, and at the third hour the number decreased to only about 100 reports.

The site said that the notifications decreased to about two thousand, and this coincided with a near-normal return to the application's service in several regions of the world. “WhatsApp” topped the list of the most popular hashtags around the world on “Twitter”, as soon as users noticed the application crashing, and the hashtag garnered more than 7,000 tweets, according to “Reuters”.
