World Cup 2022.. A “surprising report” regarding Karim Benzema’s injury

 In a surprising news, Radio Monte Carlo indicated that French star Karim Benzema may return to participate in the 2022 World Cup with the French national team. The radio reported that Benzema could theoretically join the France squad for the World Cup in Qatar, after the Spanish press reported that the Real Madrid striker had already recovered from the injury that seemed to keep him out of the tournament.

Benzema was forced to withdraw from Didier Deschamps' squad ahead of France's first match against Australia. The Ballon d'Or winner had been struggling with fitness ahead of the tournament but suffered a new injury upon his return to group training.

However, it appears that Benzema has recovered faster than first thought. According to several Spanish media outlets, including Onda Madrid, the Real Madrid striker could return to training in the middle of the week. It may be that Benzema's World Cup dream is still very much alive.

According to FIFA rules, Benzema can return to the French national team and compete in the remainder of the tournament, as he was not replaced by another player in the squad, after the injury was announced. In the end, the decision is up to French coach Deschamps.
