Confronting Portugal and South Korea... Ronaldo's participation is questionable

The Portuguese star, Cristiano Ronaldo, may not be able to participate in his country's match against South Korea in the World Cup, on Friday. Portugal coach Fernando Santos confirmed that the former Manchester United star had missed the national team's training tour on Wednesday, and had only practiced exercises alone in a closed hall.

However, Ronaldo returned to training with his teammates on Thursday, the day before the last confrontation in the group stage. And in the event that Ronaldo is absent from the match, this will allow the substitutes to show themselves, especially since Portugal secured qualification for the round of 16 after defeating Ghana and Uruguay in the eighth group competitions in the World Cup in Qatar.

But Ronaldo will lose the opportunity to increase his tally of goals in the World Cup tournaments, which stands at 8 goals so far. "Let's see, (but) in principle Ronaldo will train soon," Santos told a news conference.

The Portuguese national team coach added that he was not sure that Ronaldo, 37, was ready for the match, noting that Ronaldo was substituted in the first two matches in the World Cup and there were plans if he could not play in the last match. And he stressed that there is no player guaranteed to participate at all times, and it will not work unless there is a plan.
