Salah shines after the "World Cup stop" and leads Liverpool to victory
Liverpool achieved an important victory, over Aston Villa, in the English Premier League competitions, in the team’s first match after the 2022 World Cup was stopped. Liverpool defeated its host, Aston Villa, 3-1, in a match in which Egyptian star Mohamed Salah starred.
Salah scored the first goal, and passed a touch pass for the second goal to his Dutch colleague Virgil van Dyck, to put Liverpool in an excellent position before the first half final. In the second half, Aston Villa returned with Ollie Watkins' goal, but Liverpool settled the match with the feet of its 18-year-old teenage star, Stefan Bagcetic.
The young Spanish player scored his first goal in a Liverpool shirt, and contributed to an important victory after the long hiatus. With this victory, Liverpool rose to sixth place in the league standings, while Aston Villa remained in 12th place.
