The Minister of Justice and Judicial Affairs in the Somali Federal Government, Hassan Maalim Mahmoud, met yesterday, Tuesday, in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, with the Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council, Faiq Zaidan.

During the meeting, according to a statement issued by the Iraqi Supreme Judicial Council, bilateral relations between Somalia and Iraq and judicial and legal cooperation between them to strengthen relations were discussed.

The number of characters in the meeting indicates its importance.

From the Somali side, the meeting was attended by Suleiman Mohammed, Attorney General of the Republic of Somalia, Saleh Sheikh Ibrahim, Deputy President of the Federal Supreme Court, Abdullah Abdul Rahman, Advisor to the Minister, Liban Sheikh Mahmoud, Ambassador of the Republic of Somalia in Baghdad, and Deputy Ambassador Abdel Fattah Sheikh Ahmed, while from the Iraqi side it was attended by Chief Public Prosecutor Najm. Abdullah and the head of the Judicial Supervision Authority, Laith Jabr.
