A meeting was held to resolve clan conflicts in the Middle Shabelle region
A high-level meeting was held in the coastal city of “Adheli” in the Middle Shabelle region to discuss ways to find a solution to the recurring clan conflicts in the region, which have led to huge losses of lives and property. The meeting was attended by ministers in the Hirshabelle Regional Government and officials from the judiciary and security services and from the Adali and Ragi Alili administration in Middle Shabelle, and it was agreed that anyone who carries out acts that disrupt security and stability will face the law.
The administrations of the towns of “Adli” and “Ragi Ali” promised that the security services would follow up on anyone involved in actions targeting the security and stability of the areas located between the two towns.
The agreement stipulates that a person who kills another person must be punished and his crime should be dealt with individually because he alone will bear the consequences of his actions and that there should be no retaliation against the tribe to which he belongs.
Federal government forces and Hirshabelle state government forces control security in areas where battles took place between tribal militias that led to the killing of civilians and the burning of homes.
The Somali regions in various states suffer from conflicts between clans due to conflict over land ownership or sometimes due to political interests, which leads to destabilization of security and stability.
