The Somali President arrives in Rome to attend the Italian-African Summit

 Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud arrived this evening in the Italian capital, Rome, to participate in the Italian-African summit scheduled to be held on January 28 and 29.

The Somali presidency indicated that President Mahmoud will deliver a speech that will address several topics, most notably economic and security cooperation, the necessity of respecting the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia, and daring Ethiopia to violate Somali sovereignty.

During his stay in Rome, the President is scheduled to meet with a number of leaders and leaders of countries and representatives of international organizations participating in the summit.
