Puntland announces the withdrawal of confidence from its representatives in the Somali Parliament

The Puntland Regional Administration announced that it had withdrawn confidence from its representatives in both houses of the Somali Federal Parliament after they became opposed to the position taken by the administration regarding the relationship with the federal government.

The Minister of Information in Puntland, Mahmoud Aidid Durar, said that the representatives sent by Puntland to Mogadishu have become opponents of the state from which they come, so they cannot represent it in the Somali Parliament.

The statement of the Minister of Information of Puntland came at a time when some members of the Senate and People's Senate of the Somali Federal Parliament, elected from Puntland, said that they would negotiate with the Somali government after the state president, Said Abdullahi Deni, announced the severing of his administration's relationship with the federal government.

These members accused President Deni of conflict with the federal government for his own political interests, which made the people of Puntland not receive the projects to which they were entitled.
