Khatima administration leader accuses the United Kingdom of interfering in Somali affairs

The leader of the UK administration was accused of opposing the aspirations of his people and interfering in their internal affairs

Abdul Qadir Ahmed Fardih, the leader of the Khatima administration, which is headquartered in the city of “Lasanood,” the administrative capital of the “Sol” region, accused the United Kingdom of opposing the aspirations of his people and interfering in their internal affairs, and stressed the need to stop its interference.

During a public speech on Wednesday, Ferdieh warned the United Kingdom against the escalation of conflicts, and asked it to refrain from interfering in internal affairs to manage the end.

“We are warning the United Kingdom against further conflict,” he said. We demand non-interference in our internal affairs. Times have changed, and we are no longer in the early twentieth century. Our strength as Somalis is greater now than ever before.” A reference to the Anglo-Somali War or Dervish War, a series of British military campaigns in northern Somalia.

Ferdie called on the international community and the Somali people to recognize the United Kingdom's return to its colonial tactics based on divide and rule. “We call on the UK to end its century-long opposition to the wishes of our people.”

Ferdie also appealed to President Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud and Prime Minister of the Somali Federal Government, Hamza Barre, to clarify their position on the intervention from the United Kingdom, which he believed undermined the unity of the Somali people.
